As you look back on the first month of the year, does anything stand out? For instance did you make a New Year's Resolution? Did you snowboard or ski? Did you make some plans for the future? I never used to like January but that all changed about there years ago when I witnessed the beauty and serenity of a northern winter where the landscape is covered in snow, the animals are resting, the days are short and calm, and sitting near the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa is oh, so comforting.
This past January was the hardest I've ever had. I was dealing with one setback after another; mourning the loss of my Mother, hurting my eye, dealing with an UTI and being put on an antibiotic, excruciating pain in my lower back that made it difficult to stand up, bend, or even walk. Then there were the days that I couldn't leave home because of hazardous weather and road conditions. I was unemployed too, eating my troubles away, and now have extra weight on me that I never did in my entire life. I'm overweight. Yak....all this has been stressful but regardless there's always something magnificent to look forward to in life. Looking back at January, there were definitely some sweet moments too so no matter the difficulties life can bring the key is to always look for purpose, be grateful, and have hope in the endless possibilities out there in this vast world.
I hope you have pleasant memories of the first month of the year, JANUARY. May all your dreams come true for 2026. CHEERS!
